John Salyers: This is a Shoes For Orphan Souls update. As of the end of the day on Monday 8.19.13, we have raised $5100.00 for the SFOS project. The amount raised has come from 53 members and 58 non members. Many of you have been very generous in your giving and have reached into your sphere of influence and raised a substantial amount of money. I want to especially say thank you to John Steffen who contacted his clients and got them involved and from 49 clients he collected $892.00 plus his own generous donation. Your generosity again gives testimony to what a great club we have and I am thrilled to be apart. If you still want to send a check you have until Thursday to get me checks in the mail. You can send them to me at 1501 Twinridge Way Independence, KY 41051. I expect that I will get a couple of more before I have to turn in the money on Saturday in Lexington.

“NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY”
This does not end our show drive Billy Santos and Barbara Keeling have set a goal for our club of 3000 pair of shows. We will be collecting actual shoes until October 31st. There are several organizations that are going to help….Boone County Schools with thinks to Superintendent Randy Poe and Dawn Denham, Bank of Kentucky, Northern Kentucky Baptist Association, Associates at JC Pennys, and others. Also, mailing soon will be 70,000 pieces in the Money Mailer thanks to Stephanie Potter and her contacts there. These will go into homes throughout NKY. If you have friends or associates who would like to help be sure you take them up on their offer. We have been getting a lot of publicity lately for this project and you might have someone who wants to donate money. We can take that and buy shoes locally for the best price we can find. The children who are going to get a new pair of shoes, many for the first time, SAY THANK YOU! We are Rotary “DOING GOOD IN THE WORLD”
